HOWTO: USB Flash Drive for mobility & security

I have 12 webmail and 4 POP mail accounts. Yeah I know that’s a lot. I hate it when emails from a single mailbox are stored on 2 different computers. That is why I only have Thunderbird installed on my notebook. The action sparked off another problem. When working on my desktop, I need to switch on my notebook to retrieve my mails.

Should I start Podcasting?

I’m thinking of starting a weekly podcast reviewing my last week’s posts. It will include some songs to spice up the show a bit. The only problem is my voice sounds like shit. Tell me if I should.

Underground Penang Tour

My cousin living in Austria came down for holidays and to renew his IC to the new MyKard. I was driving them after dinner and we needed to kill 1 hour. He had a friend from Ipoh with us and I thought it would be a nice time to show them the underground scenes of Penang. A tour you won’t get from any tourguide.

Google Talk released

Google TalkGoogle had just released Google Talk.

Google Talk enables you to send instant messages to your friends and family. Best of all, it includes a Skype like voice feature.

I think this will be a great app but maybe not a winner. MSN has the unfair advantage of being built into every Windows PC. But to the eyes of the geeks, anything from the Geek Gods is a winner :)

I love the simple interface and it’s bubble display of your latest Gmail messages. I just tried the voice feature and it does not work. Probably need me to set port forwarding to get it to work.

I use Gaim a lot and this is built on the Jabber platform. It’s possible to use Gaim to connect to the server but don’t expect voice capabilities. Not that it works for me now anyway. heh

Try it out. Let me know what you think.

Google to release Google Talk

Google Inc is scheduled to release their own instant messenger. The Internet search giant plans to launch an instant messaging program called Google Talk as early as Wednesday.

According to a source, Google plans to let users chat using more than just their keyboards. Like similar programs from competitors, Google Talk also will let computer users with a headset have voice conversations with other computer users with headsets.

I just can’t wait for it to launch :)

I’m wet

It rained so hard suddenly and I’m all wet. Car parked about 50 meters, I had to dash in the heavy rain. It’s a good thing to see rain though. Will definately freshen the air abit.

I’m thinking of buying an mp3 recorder/player. I’m not much a mp3 whore, so I guess 1-5 GB should be more than enough. It should come with a quality built in mic because it would be used mainly for recording. Any good recommendations?
