Having an XML sitemap is important to help Google crawl your site effectively. It’s like giving Googlebot a map of your site and telling it where to crawl instead of the usual index links crawling. The bot may miss some of your links if you are not using search engine friendly URLs or have NOINDEX tags embedded on your page.

Most of us using Wordpress are blessed with the excellent Google Sitemap Generator plugin by Arne Brachhold.

For those who are not using Wordpress, you may try the free service at XML-Sitemaps.com.

This guy is awesome. He’s got his whole home all wired to the net.

Web 2.0 seems to be the fad these days and I’ve compiled a list of my top ten favorite.

Web 2.0 generally refers to a second generation of services available on the World Wide Web that lets people collaborate and share information online. Google had just released their latest version of Google Desktop 3 today. One notable feature is the new Sidebar. Now you can customize your desktop even more with undocked and floating Sidebar panels, and also share the glory of your personal Sidebar by sending panel items such as News, Web Clips, and more to your friends using email, Google Talk or even the Sidebar itself.

It boasts features like

• Search for files across all your computers
• Share information with your friends right from the Sidebar
• Quickly find your emails, files, web history, and more

With acccess to so much information, I would sure like to see what the program is sending back HQ

After releasing the new RSS feeds function, Google announced another 3 new features just in time for the holiday season.

GMail Mobile
Mobile phone users can now check their Gmail via http://m.gmail.com/. This I have not tried but I’m sure it’s a nifty feature. Their mobile edition boasts of being able to automatically open attachments in messages including photos, Word and PDF files. There is a reply by call feature which lets you call the person if you have their phone number on your Gmail contacts.

Vacation auto-responder
This is one feature that’s long due. Most popular mail apps already have this feature. Just in time for Christmas.

Contact groups
I’m sure this feature is a popular one. I don’t use the contacts much because you can’t create groups. Now I don’t have an excuse

Check out chicks in skimpy outfits. Talk thrash and meet new friends. Hell even get a buggy and drive around.

Or chill out near the boombox streaming live radio. I’ve been a There member since last year but only really explored it today.
