Microsoft Sues Hacker

Viodentia had been sued by software giant Microsoft alleging that the programmer has access to proprietary source-code.

The hacker’s program called “FairUse4WM” removes anti-copying guards from WMA encoded songs and had been updated regularly as soon as Microsoft patches them.

“FairUse4WM has been my own creation, and has never involved Microsoft source code,” the developer wrote. “I link with Microsoft’s static libraries provided with the compiler and various platform SDK (software development kit) files.”

Bullocks! I can’t win again in 30 days?

Tokyo Summer Sonic Concert … hmmm wouldn’t that be nice? Better if I could get it for free … but a lousy RHCP t shirt I won a few weeks back stood in my way today. This was a shot at an all expense paid trip to Japan and catch great bands like Metallica, Red Hot Chilli Peppers and many other gay bands not worth mentioning.

The Cure

This great brit band has left a legacy spanning 3 decades. They came about to the scene the same year I was born. 1976.

Robert Smith, Michael Dempsey (bass), Laurence “Lol” Tolhurst (drums) and Porl Thompson (guitar) received a recording contract worth £1000 from Hansa Records. A year later, they had a rift about the direction of the band and renamed to what they are known as today from their initial name “The Easy Cure”.

Robert SmithAt the age of 21, Robert and the band was under heavy influence of drugs and Smith adopted a theatrical gothic enhanced look.

“I didn’t see that there was much point in continuing with life. In the next two years, I genuinely felt that I wasn’t going to be alive for much longer, and I tried pretty hard to make this feeling come true.”

In the late 82s, The Cure disbanded leaving Smith as a one man band. He released the pop single “Let’s Go to Bed” aimed to shock critics and perhaps kill The Cure. Unfortunately, the song was a success.

Many years went by with Robert experimenting with crazy sounds, at times making himself sound as bad as possibly but the fans just loved everything he churned out.

Media players

I’m not much a media person but I will be. Winamp 2.666 remains my choice for playing mp3s. Why use such an old version you may ask?

Why not when what it offers is sufficient? Not for you perhaps. That is why I am gonna torture myself and install all 4 of the most popular media players and pick my choice in the end.

The 4 media players I will be reviewing are

1. Windows Media Player 10
2. iTunes 4
3. RealPlayer 10
4. Winamp 5

We’ll see what’s my choice in a week or two :)
