Rakan Cop goodie bag
I just got back from the Rakan Cop launching cum dinner at Equatorial Hotel. I got this goodie bag and loads of cops surrounding me. The dinner was supposed to start at 7.30pm and it really only started at 9pm. The usual wait for the bigshots.
Hunger stroke me bad as I waited and waited and waited for dinner to start. The worse thing was, there’s no alcohol. What do you expect right?
The guest of honor was our Penang Governor, Our CM, Deputy CM and a few others.
The Rakan Cop program is basically one which reaches out to the public to work hand in hand with the police. Citizens are encouraged to report any suspicious activity to the police so they can help clean up the city. In short, to be their eyes and ears. For those of you who don’t understand Malay, it’s just plainly being a copper’s nark.
Ok … lets check out what’s in the bag.
First we have a cap … yeah a Rakan Cop cap. Wear it proud and let everyone know you’re a Rakan Cop.
Then of course the complete kit … Rakan Cop notebook (for you to take quick notes on number plates of suspicious hoods), a Rakan Cop pen cum whistle (for those moments when you need to stop a snatch thief), a Rakan Cop button badge (for those who like button badges), a Rakan Cop card (filled with useful information on how to report culprits) and a Rakan Cop bookmark (I think it’s a bookmark).

I bet this is a joke, one of my friends boss reported he has accidentally found his stolen car in the town and calling police immediately to setup the trap in order to catch the guys who stole his car since for sure the thief will come back to take the car, and what police told him was they are afraid of the thief since don’t know what kind of weaposn they may carry, what the fuck if the police are afraid of the thief with their arm, how about the normal residents like us. Bang head, what can I say - police sux! All they know is makan r*suah.

It sounds like a joke, but this is the real scenario happening in our country. No wonder I get to read the news regarding someone get robbed and screwed everyday.
