Read lots of related blogs and forums and make sure you leave a link back to your own site with interesting comments. Informative comments will ensure that readers will click on your link to find out more about you. One liners are not recommended.

I think posting up a nude pic of yourself will attract much more traffic. Not recommended though.
You would still need to use one of the ways above to get traffic to your site first though
1) Start a blog war with a famous blogger. (Be an ass and annoy the more emotional ones. Said blogger and their fans/friends/clique buddies will get back at you)
2) Utilize the Digg effect. See what’s on front page, write something that’s SORT of relevent to it, and post it as a comment.
3) Blog about a famous beautiful gal.
4) … use auto-traffic.
Yup … those will also help but don’t go for number 4. Auto-traffic is useless traffic and if you run Adsense on your site, you will be warned not to use them.
Yeah, unless you don’t use adsense and all you want is some empty-feeling satisfaction of seeing some big numbers on your stats tracker.

You can also get more traffic instantly from directories, specially if they have ping services.
