Top Ten Web 2.0 sites
Web 2.0 seems to be the fad these days and I’ve compiled a list of my top ten favorite.
Web 2.0 generally refers to a second generation of services available on the World Wide Web that lets people collaborate and share information online. In contrast to the first generation, Web 2.0 gives users an experience closer to desktop applications than the traditional static Web pages. Web 2.0 applications often use a combination of techniques devised in the late 1990s, including public web service APIs (dating from 1998), Ajax (1998), and web syndication (1997). They often allow for mass publishing (web-based social software). The term may include blogs and wikis.
- Ning - Easy to create and share your own social web app.
- HipCal - Online Personal Information Manager.
- Wayfaring - Create and share your own maps.
- Avvenu - Access files and share photos from anywhere.
- Writely - Online word processor and documents sharing. Recently acquired by Google.
- meebo - Access your ICQ, AOL, MSN, Yahoo and Gtalk accounts from one web based site. No installation required.
- Planzo - Another online calendar with easy drag and drop features.
- ThinkFree - Online Office compatible app and storage.
- Rallypoint - Online collaboration made simple.
- Campfire - Simple web based chat group for business.
Feel free to drop comments if you know of any better Web 2.0 sites.

There is a lot of them.
I like…
pandora.com (music discovery site)
last.fm (music tracking site/discovery)
eyespot.com (free video hosting- where I host my vlogs!)
I also like how everyone has their own little icon these days. Can’t be web 2.0 without a cool icon!
Wikipedia.org and YouTube.com are a couple of my favorites.
Planzo appears to be dead. I was using it and quite pleased with it for months, but about a week ago it shriveled up and became nonresponsive.
