What is your favorite condiment?

I know a lot of people who can’t eat without their favorite condiments .. be it soya sauce, tomato sauce, pepper, fish sauce, chilli sauce, mustard, etc.

Soya sauce used to accompany all of my meals when I was young. That was until my mom made me drink the whole bottle of soya sauce. (I only finished half)

I guess a lesson well learnt. I hardly touch condiments nowadays.

Good food should be eaten without any condiments, unless they come with the meal.

Using condiments to enhance/spoil their taste is an act frowned upon by most chefs and cooks. It’s disrespecting their skills.

If you run across food that is tasteless and needs lots of condiments to enhance, forcing you to cook it the second time, it’s bad food and should be avoided forever.

Yeah, agree on that. I hate those western restaurants who shove that mandatory ketchup and cili sauce to you. So no standard only. *ouch* to the soya sauce incident.

if you use any condiment (new word to me, thks) at any french restaurant, they will be insulted :) But at home, when my taste bud ain’t working, maggi chilli sauce will be it! and at times thick sweet soya sauce. Just don’t ask me why. hehe

I have a friend who used to eat ketchup by the spoonfuls!

My weakness when it comes to condiments are those yummy sambals they give you with your noodles. I like them just on their own and will eat teeny weeny bits of it while waiting for my noodles to be cooked.

lilian: if they have top notch sauces, I don’t see why they should shove you ketchup.

mahagurusia: today’s post is brought to you by the word “condiment” and the number “9″ :)

boo_licous: I bet your friend digg ketchup sachets given by McDonalds :P
